I grew up surrounded by sports. I am blessed to have parents that had and still have a very athletic background and a passion for sports. I grew up a multi sport athlete, playing soccer, softball, swimming, tennis and track. I eventually went on to play Division 1 soccer at Francis Marion University. I loved training and trying to not only better myself but better our team as well. I discovered CrossFit in Albany, GA at World Camp CrossFit. After day one I knew CrossFit would be my new passion. I met my best friends there and it changed my life. I was blessed enough to go to the 2011 CrossFit Games that year on a team and we had the time of our lives.
I have now been doing CrossFit for over 4 years. CrossFit gave life new meaning to me. It has taught me what it’s like to truly be healthy and fit. I have a passion for helping others and I’ve always wondered how I could help others, now I know. I want to help others live a healthier life. I want to give others the chance to allow CrossFit and Fitness to change their lives just like its changed mine. I am here to help others become fit, healthy and reach their goals.

Six years ago I decided to make my health and fitness a priority. After many courses, classes, certifications, and hours in the gym, I learned that almost all I thought I knew about health and fitness was wrong. I set out to find the most effective method for improving my physical fitness and my health.  I knew I found it in the CrossFit program.  I have competed in several national weightlifting meets. ran marathons, an ulta-marathon, and I’m always finding new ways to express and test my fitness.  I am 40 years old and I am in the best shape of my life.  I enjoy sharing what I’ve learned and have developed a passion for helping others improve their health, fitness, and quality of life.

I have played sports practically my entire life.  Whether it was running around a soccer field trying to score that rare goal or standing atop the pitchers mound inside a baseball diamond fiercely staring down the batter, deciding which pitch to throw, sports have been a monumental piece of life.  I was lucky enough to play baseball at the D1 collegiate level at the University of Memphis for three years.  After the end of my third year of playing college baseball I decided to leave the sport and focus on my academic career but was now absent the camaraderie and a workout routine that before had always been provided to me by my coaches, my teammates, and the training personnel at the University of Memphis.

A friend from my team had mentioned CrossFit to me earlier in the year and I decided to give it a shot.  I began crossfit in August of 2010 at Faction Strength and Conditioning in Memphis, TN.  I tried my first workout and was instantly hooked.  The camaraderie, the knowledge, the community, and the passion to see everyone succeed in not only the workout but whatever endeavor they set forth in was overflowing.  To me, this is the essence of what CrossFit can be and what I hope to foster at CrossFit Hit & Run.  A group of members knowledgeable in the realm of healthy human movement and optimal nutrition who wish to see their peers succeed not only in the workouts put before them but in every aspect of life.

I started CrossFit in 2010 at the recommendation of my orthopedic surgeon. After having 2 hip surgeries he thought CrossFit would be a good alternative. I have been active most of my life but I tended to lean towards running distance. It simply was not an option for me anymore.

My first CrossFit gym was 17 miles from my house but I instantly fell in love with the challenging things the coaches asked me to do. I realized right away that I wanted to be able to teach people this way of thinking and moving. I made the change to CrossFit Collierville shortly after and when they mentioned wanting to hire a female coach in the future I knew this was what I wanted to do.

I love that as a woman who CrossFits, I can teach other women the importance of being strong. I see so many women trying to be as skinny as they can be. I want them to realize that being strong and fit is beautiful.
I’m a mother of 2 and I want to pass on to my kids the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Being able to stay active for as long as you can is so important.
I get to see people do things everyday they never thought their bodies could do. It’s such a great feeling to empower them. I hope they know they are such an inspiration to me.

You don’t have to be the best at anything, just try to be better than YOU were yesterday.
